Wonders of Science

30/04/2015
We had the pleasure of a visit from a PHD student scientist, Lizzie Worrall to teach the students about earthquakes.  This is part of the Wonder of Science program which the year 4-6 students are participating in this term.  The title of this program is very apt because the wonder on the students’ faces was so apparent.  Apart from learning about earthquakes, the students also had a really good discussion with Lizzie about going to University, what it looks like, what sorts of things you can learn, and how you learn (e.g. lectures).  It is invaluable for students to have an ambition and something to work towards in their schooling.  Miss Worrall taught the students three different movements of tectonic plates – convergent, divergent and transform.
Thank you for visiting our school!
